News 2024

Chablis, November 14th

Following our May news, we must say that the Harvest 2024 did not went well. After different damages due to the hail storm, we had one of the most terrible month of June with so much rain that even with nearly 2 treatments every 10 days we could not avoid the Mildew attack. Especially on the right bank were all the Grand cru are, we lost nearly 90 % in total and 60 % in our Premier Cru !

The grapes that we get from our 2 suppliers for our Chablis Village, some around Fontenay and Fleys, were actually safe from the Mildew or hail storm, we are therefore close to a normal year .

We did start our harvest on September 19th for 5 days in comparison to 10 days in 2023 !

At the moment we did bottle all of our Chablis and Vaillon 2023, the Grand Cru and certain cuvées will be bottled by the end of January 2025.

We do hope for a normal 2025 vintage and since then let’s enjoy the great 2023 .

Chablis, May 24th

Since our last report, we did finish our 2022 bottling of Grands Crus and Vaillon Guy Moreau and they’re giving us complete satisfaction !

We had a mild and very humid winter, so the bud breaking came very early. On April 22 & 23 we had a small frost and lit up our candles and turned on our electric protection at the bottom of les Clos. We finally had just a few damages in Valmur and Vaillon.

On May the 1st we had a very bad hail storm in the region, roughly 500 hectares were damaged between 20 to 40 % and 500 were completely destroyed !

At the Domaine we had damages between 20 to 50%, depending on the parcels, mostly in Vaillon and Valmur.

What we need now is a warm weather allowing the vine to recover from these difficult times.
